DocsWallet is one of the ten exclusive startups selected out of more than 1000 applications for the first cohort of Startupbootcamp Smart City Dubai. DocsWallet offers a Blockchain technology to government entities, universities and banks to certify digital documents. Some of its clients are institutions in India, United States, Singapore and South Africa. The accelerator program will kick off on November 26th.
Startupbootcamp Smart City Dubai is the first Smart City accelerator program in the MENA region, and partners with Smart Dubai, du, Dubai Chamber, and Orange Business. The eight key focus areas of Startupbootcamp Smart City Dubai 2017 are IoT & Connectivity, Open City Data, Urban Automation & Mobility, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Sustainable Cities & Living, Smart Government, and Smart Retail.
The other startups that made it are: Aiveny (UAE), an integrator that monitors and manages assets; Buseet (Egypt), a premium bus seat booking platform; CountIt (Argentina), an IoT solutions platform for mobility insights to growing cities; Friendycar (UAE), the first P2P car rental marketplace in MENA, Grid Supply Chain (Egypt), to empower the supply chain ecosystem with visibility, efficiency, & reliability; InteliTaap (India), an indoor analytics platform for retailers to optimise in-store experience; Responscity (India) creates Digital House ID’s which is logical, shareable & verifiable; Smart Sensor Devices (Sweden), manufactures hardware and software platforms for IoT systems; Verismart (India), a digital ID Network using Blockchain, AI and Cognitive Computing.
While entrepreneurs sharpen their skills at StartupBootCamp, the emirate of Dubai has launched Dubai Digital Certificates to enable government and semi government entities to issue digital certificates to verify identities and transactions, as well as to improve cybersecurity. The MoU between Smart Dubai Office and Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) to issue the certificates is an important building block for the Smart Dubai strategy. DESC vision is “Making Dubai the safest city in the cyberspace.”
